Terms and Conditions
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and RoamSaathi and govern your use of Sangini. Please read them. By creating an account you accept them in full.
1. Agreement to these Terms
Sangini is operated by RoamSaathi (RoamSaathi, we, us, our). These Terms and Conditions (Terms) apply to your access to and use of Sangini, including the web application, the progressive web app and this website.
By creating an account, or by otherwise using Sangini, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree, you must not use Sangini.
2. What Sangini is, and what it is not
Sangini is a women only platform that helps members plan social outings, publish those plans and be introduced to other verified members who wish to join. Our mission is safety for women, so that they can have all the fun.
Sangini is not:
- a dating or matrimonial service;
- a travel agency, tour operator, event organiser or ticketing service;
- an employer, employment agency or provider of any service that a member offers to another member;
- a guarantor of any member's character, conduct, statements or intentions.
Plans are created and run by members, not by us. We review plans before they are published and we verify identity before members can participate, but we are not a party to any arrangement between members and we do not supervise what happens at a meeting.
3. Eligibility
To use Sangini you must:
- be a woman;
- be at least 18 years old;
- have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract;
- not have been previously removed from Sangini, unless we have expressly readmitted you;
- not be barred from using the service under any applicable law.
Sangini is a single gender space by design. That design is the reason many members feel able to use it at all, and we enforce it strictly.
4. Your account
- You may hold one account. Accounts are personal to you and may not be shared, sold, rented or transferred.
- You must give accurate information and keep it up to date. Impersonating another person, or misrepresenting your age, gender or identity, is a serious breach of these Terms.
- You are responsible for keeping access to your phone number and your device secure. Tell us immediately if you believe someone else has accessed your account.
- You may delete your account at any time. Deletion is subject to the retention rules set out in the Privacy Policy.
5. Identity verification
Before you can create a plan or show interest in one, your identity must be verified. You will be asked to submit a selfie and a government issued identity document. A member of our team reviews the submission by hand.
- Until your verification is approved you may browse plans and open plan details. You may not create a plan and you may not show interest in one.
- We may approve, decline or ask you to resubmit. We may decline a submission without giving detailed reasons where doing so would compromise the integrity of the check.
- We may re-verify an account at any time, and may suspend access while a re-verification is in progress.
- Verifying a phone number is not identity verification. Only a human review can mark an account as verified.
Submitting a forged, altered or borrowed document is a breach of these Terms, may be a criminal offence, and will result in permanent removal and, where appropriate, a report to the authorities.
6. Hosting a plan
- Every plan you submit is reviewed by our team before it becomes visible to other members. Submission is not publication.
- We may decline a plan, or ask you to change it, if it is unclear, unsafe, commercial in nature, misleading or contrary to these Terms.
- You may host a limited number of active plans at any one time. The current limit is shown in the app.
- Your plan must accurately describe what will happen, where and when. If material details change, you must update the plan, and material changes may require a further review.
- You are responsible for any bookings, permissions, tickets or costs associated with your own plan, and for telling participants clearly what they will be expected to pay for themselves.
- If you cancel a plan, cancel it in the app and as early as you reasonably can, so that participants are not left waiting.
7. Joining a plan
Showing interest in a plan does not entitle you to attend it. Participation works as follows:
- You show interest in a published plan.
- Our team shortlists a relevant subset of interested members and passes that shortlist to the host.
- The host accepts or declines from the shortlist.
- You confirm your place.
- A group is created for the confirmed participants.
You may show interest in a limited number of plans without charge, and you may hold a limited number of confirmed joins at the same time. The current limits are shown in the app. Neither we nor the host is obliged to give a reason for a decision at any stage.
If you can no longer attend a plan you have confirmed, withdraw in the app as early as you reasonably can. Repeatedly failing to attend without notice affects your standing on the platform and may lead to restrictions.
8. Meeting in person, and your own safety
Please read this section carefully. Verification reduces risk. It does not remove it. No screening process, ours included, can guarantee how another person will behave.
You agree that:
- you meet other members at your own discretion and your own risk;
- you will use your own judgement about where and when to meet, and will feel free to leave any situation that does not feel right, at any time and without explanation;
- you will comply with all applicable laws while participating in a plan;
- you will tell someone you trust where you are going, and will keep your emergency contact details up to date in the app;
- in an emergency you will contact the local emergency services first, and then tell us.
We strongly encourage first meetings in public places. We do not carry out criminal record checks or background checks on members beyond the identity verification described in section 5, and you should not assume that any such check has been done.
9. Community rules and prohibited conduct
You must not, on Sangini or in connection with it:
- harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, bully or abuse any member;
- discriminate against or demean anyone on the basis of religion, caste, ethnicity, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, age or appearance;
- post or share sexual content, hate speech, violent content, or content that promotes self harm;
- solicit money, investments, donations, loans or gifts from members;
- use Sangini for advertising, recruitment, multi level marketing, promotion of a business or any other commercial purpose without our written consent;
- share another member's photograph, contact details, location or any other personal information outside Sangini without her clear permission;
- take or share photographs or recordings of another member without her consent;
- create a false profile, use another person's photographs, or misstate your gender, age or identity;
- attend a plan on behalf of, or accompanied by, a person who is not a confirmed participant;
- scrape, copy, crawl, index or bulk collect member data or content by any means;
- attempt to access accounts, data or systems you are not authorised to access, or interfere with the operation or security of the service;
- use Sangini for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that would cause us to breach any law.
10. Content you post
You keep ownership of the content you post, including your profile photograph, your plan descriptions and your cover images. By posting content you grant us a worldwide, non exclusive, royalty free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for display and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating, securing and improving Sangini. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where the content is retained for the safety and legal reasons set out in the Privacy Policy.
You confirm that you have the rights necessary to post the content you post, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights. We may remove content that breaches these Terms.
If you believe content on Sangini infringes your intellectual property rights, write to us using the contact details in section 23 with enough detail to identify the content and your rights in it, and we will investigate promptly.
11. Reporting, moderation and enforcement
You can report a member, a plan or a group from inside the app. Reports are reviewed by our safety team.
Where we find a breach of these Terms, or where we consider it necessary to protect members, we may take one or more of the following actions, in proportion to the circumstances: issue a warning, remove content, unpublish a plan, restrict features, revoke verification, suspend an account or permanently remove an account. In urgent cases we may act first and explain afterwards.
If your account is suspended or removed and you believe we have made a mistake, you may ask us to review that decision by writing to the address in section 23. We will have the review carried out by someone other than the person who made the original decision, wherever practicable.
12. Ratings and attendance
After an outing, participants may be asked to rate the experience and to confirm who attended. Ratings must be honest and must relate to the outing itself. Ratings may not be used to retaliate, to coerce another member, or to make claims that are false or defamatory.
We may remove a rating that breaches these Terms. We use aggregate ratings and attendance records to protect the community, including to identify accounts that should be restricted.
13. Third party services
Sangini uses third party services, including phone number verification, identity verification, email delivery and group messaging. When a group is confirmed we may create a group on a third party messaging service and add confirmed participants using the phone numbers on their accounts.
Your use of any third party service is governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for those services, for their availability, or for content shared within them.
14. Our intellectual property
Sangini, RoamSaathi, the names, logos, designs, software, text and images that make up the service are owned by RoamSaathi or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a limited, personal, non exclusive, non transferable and revocable licence to use Sangini for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or create derivative works from any part of the service.
15. Availability of the service
We aim to keep Sangini available and working well, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, or the service as a whole, and we may carry out maintenance. Where a change is material and we can give reasonable notice, we will.
16. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sangini is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non infringement.
We do not warrant that any member is who she claims to be beyond the verification described in section 5, that any plan will take place as described, or that any interaction between members will be safe, lawful or satisfactory. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
17. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RoamSaathi, its directors, employees and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive loss, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data or opportunity, arising out of or in connection with your use of Sangini or your interactions with other members.
Subject to section 16, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms and your use of Sangini will not exceed the greater of the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or one thousand Indian Rupees.
18. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RoamSaathi and its directors, employees and agents against any claim, demand, loss, liability or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of Sangini, your content, or your conduct towards another member.
19. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Sangini and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we reasonably believe your continued access presents a risk to another member or to the service.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive it, including sections 10, 14, 16, 17, 18, 21 and 22.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the product and the law change. The version number and effective date at the top of this page tell you which version applies. If a change is material we will give you reasonable notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Sangini after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
21. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts at [City of jurisdiction to be inserted before publication], India, have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms.
If you are a consumer resident outside India, nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country in which you live, or of your right to bring proceedings in your local courts where the law gives you that right.
Before starting formal proceedings, we ask that you contact us using the details in section 23, so that we have a fair opportunity to resolve the matter directly.
22. General
- These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us in relation to Sangini.
- If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
- Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign ours to an affiliate or in connection with a merger or transfer of business.
- Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, agency or employment relationship between you and us.
- These Terms are published in English. If we provide a translation, the English version prevails in the event of a conflict.
